Strategic Leadership
-
Brand and Narrative Director
Creating stories, content, articles, press releases and speaker events to attract local and national impact investors learning about how to align their assets with their values.
I work on an innovative team strategically leading our brand at large conferences, regional pitch events, local ImpactPHL socials that help build in-person connections, and expand the reach of our registration for ImpactPHL Conversations through SEO effective language.
Working directly with partner organizations, I have been facilitating connective events and content marketing for investing in arts & culture, women investors, local climate technologies, BIPOC led funds, and employee ownership models.
I have grown our audience through methods of tagging participants, creating engaging stories over email with A/B mail merge to monitor the KPIs, and building graphics that quickly communicate information.
I manage outside creative teams on video, interviewing speakers, and facilitating social media, newsletter, and website communications.
-
Development Director
Focused our Community Development team on connecting regenerative farming and urban BIPOC farmers into the sustainable farming world.
In my first few months, I created a Philadelphia office space for Pasa Sustainable Agriculture to develop the connection to urban farming, which brought in funding for urban farmers’ voices in the USDA Farm Services Association (FSA) and helped deliver one of the first six urban offices for FSA in the country.
I focused on individual and major gifts alongside philanthropic grants, USDA, and Commonwealth of PA Agricultural Services funding to create a net of for soil health research on farms, funding farmers from West Virginia to Maine. This multi-tiered funding pool lifted innovative agroforestry, solar panels in livestock grazing parcels, and expanding state-registered sustainable farmer training programs.
Pasa was able to grow its team from 15 to 50 employees through the expansion of funding. I led a team of 5 in development communications alongside membership and grant managers to facilitate delivering the outcomes of grant facilitation to the public and funders.
-
Executive Director
Rebuilt a connection for a 30-year-old urban farm on an acre of land. In this role, I developed partnerships and new models to educate the public, and provide access to food, and plants within the urban community that had known this resource for many years.
I navigated this nonprofit through growth and change during the pandemic by creating innovative solutions, creating an online ordering system, building the perimeter gardens with permaculture and native perennial plants, creating a seed library program for education with Truelove Seeds, and facilitating the artistic recreation of the greenhouses and farm animal resources on site. I was able to pass along the organization in good financial health and much recreation of space in June 2021.
Unfortunately, this was a tender project and the next Executive Director did not have the skillset to take it into the future. The primary nonprofit closed in 2023, however, the land is still held safe with resources that I passed along to the land owners and current caretakers, New Kensington CDC.
